Struggling to put her life back together after a tragic mountaineering accident kills her college sweetheart, twenty-one-year-old Holly Treadwell is trying to set aside her grief, forge ahead in school, and find herself again.

When Carter Hansen, a guy who brings back horrible memories from the night of the accident, finds his way back into her life, Holly’s unsure  if she should let him in. He terrifies her in more ways than one and invokes feelings in her that she thought were buried forever. Regardless of her fears, she knows she must face him in order for her heart to heal.

Everyone tells Carter that what happened on the mountain that night was just a terrible accident, but even then, he can’t help but carry around the guilt and is unable to forgive himself. He’s drawn to Holly and being near her helps ease his conscience and gives him the release he needs.

As Holly and Carter’s relationship grows, they begin to realize that the more time they spend with one another, the more their wounds begin to heal—her grief and his guilt. But when Holly learns the details about the night of the accident—what everyone has been keeping from her—it will rip open old wounds and tear apart what they’ve both worked so hard to overcome…

My Review
Fall From Love by Heather London was a book I found to be absolutely lovely inside and out. It was the type of book that left me very content long before it ended. There are just some books, perfection or not, that make you giddy and glow when you finish it and that is why I loved Fall From Love.

One of the best things about this book was Holly because throughout the novel, she went through such change and growth. First, she was seen has a happy, full of life, fun and free girl. In one night, that all changes and she’s in this really dark place, numb, depressed, and pushing practically everyone she loved out the door. It wasn’t until another night and a few more months where Holly changes again, but for the better. Reading about Holly’s pain, of her trying to move on and facing her internal fears were not only admirable, but ultimately satisfying in some way I can’t explain. Holly really learns the value of true friendship, of loss, of falling in love and taking a chance.

I was surprised to see that Fall From Love was also in Carter’s perspective as well. It was a pleasant surprise for sure. I loved Carter because of how broken he was from all the death he experienced, but also the way he was determined to talk to Holly and make her smile and laugh again. The continuous guilt he felt throughout the novel was heartbreaking, but even more so when he was stuck between this guilt and the truth about his feelings for Holly. I think I continued to hurt for Carter because of how much he endured and how it slowly broke him down bit by bit. He was just the sweetest, most thoughtful guy there ever was and seeing him in pain made me ache.

I loved the way Heather London started off Holly and Carter’s romance with an unstable acquaintance. It got even better when it proceeded into a warm and heartfelt friendship and even more so after that. London developed this extremely well. Their feelings were fleshed out from doubt and uncertainty to trepidation and onto consuming sexual tension. The anticipation of them finally coming together was insurmountable. All that pent up tension was so freaking worth the frustration when it finally combust. I completely appreciated the fact that London took the time with the pacing to develop the relationship, but also to give the characters time to heal. I also enjoyed secondary characters, Jenna and Josh because they were great solid friendships that grounded Holly and Carter. The dynamic of all four of them rocked and really brought in some of the humor into the book. The best part of the book was what both Holly and Carter was able to overcome individually and separately, both finding forgiveness, happiness, and peace.

Overall Fall From Love was a simple but profound story that really showed an immense amount of courage at taking a chance on love and allowing it to heal you.

Book Description:
In a perilous race across the world, having the best Pandora can be the difference between life and death.

Sixteen-year-old Tella Holloway isn’t happy. Her mother rushed them out of Boston and into a craptastic house nestled in Middle of Nowhere, Montana. To make matters worse, Tella’s brother is sick, and though a dozen doctors can’t determine the cause, her mother is sure Montana’s “fresh air” will help. Now Tella spends her days being homeschooled, and uses her imagination as entertainment.

But when a small blue box appears on her bed, Tella’s world is rocked. Inside the strange package she finds a white ear bud—and after she fits it into place and touches its blinking button—an unknown voice fills her head. Tella is invited to join the Brimstone Bleed, a race across four ecosystems: desert, sea, mountains, jungle. The voice in Tella’s ear explains she has 48 hours to retrieve her Pandora, an animal genetically designed to help her win.

Tella has never been the sporty type; she’s more a cheerleader than an athlete. But despite her mother’s warnings, she’s determined to compete in the race. He’ll guard her body all night long.

Former Force Recon marine Jude Wilde’s motto has always been “burn bridges and never look back,” so nobody is more surprised when Wilde Security is hired to protect assistant district attorney Libby Pruitt, the woman he loved and left. Although she makes it clear she wants nothing to do with Jude, they’re forced to fake a relationship for her safety. He can’t ignore the heat still simmering between them, and when her stalker’s threats escalate to attempted murder, he’s left with no choice but to whisk her away to a friend’s safe house in Key West, FL.

Cooped up in paradise together, Jude begins to chip away at Libby’s resolve to hate him. But even as she gives in to his proximity and her body’s demands for his, she refuses to fall for his charms again. Maybe a torrid affair in the sun is exactly what she needs to get him out of her system. But when her stalker tracks them down, can they escape the steamy Key West night without anyone getting hurt?

My Review
Wilde Nights in Paradise had the perfect combination of love lost and then found, creepy suspenseful moments, and clever comebacks that made it absolutely wonderful to read!

I loved Jude the most because of his multi-layered personality. You don’t really get to see all of Jude at first and it was really great to be able to dive deep and get to know the person he really was. He was a guilt-ridden man who hid behind his playful persona, but was adventurous and lived life to the fullest anyway. When you first meet Jude you want to know more and when you do, you’ll realize how truly romantic and thoughtful he was. The best part of Jude was his ability to be protective and endearing and how he saw the beauty in the simplest and smallest things in life. The things he did for Libby would thaw every ice cold heart out there.

Libby was Jude’s perfect other half. She was a strong and tough girl handling threats from a stalker, preparing a case for a gangbanger, and putting the man who lived up to his last name in his rightful place. She has been trying to play it safe for the longest time, but Libby was not to be taken for granted. She had moxy, fire, and passion like you wouldn’t believe. She didn’t cower away, but fought back. Best of all, she didn’t take Jude’s bullshit and always handed a retort of her own right back to him.

Tonya Burrow’s writing had this clear and easy quality to it that made this book a very quick read. The descriptions for Key West had me aching to go there. I could imagine the lively music and the colorful surroundings of the vacation spot so easily. Burrows went a different route with her romance; making it a love lost and love found type of story I adored very much. I loved that she mixed in that romance with the suspense of the stalker. I especially enjoyed the straight to the point sexual tension and sex scenes in Wilde Nights. Burrows does a great job of reestablishing the connection and chemistry of Jude and Libby’s earlier relationship and really plays on their amusing banter, cute arguments and underlying feelings that never really went away.

Overall, Wilde Nights in Paradise was a perfect sit back and relax summer read that has a sexy romance to give that perfect amount of heat. Brazen fans will be eating this one up!

When Eden Carver, Iowa farm girl turned NY actress, decides to seduce the sexy cop next door, she begins to wonder if she’s bitten off more than she can chew.

The last thing Officer Jay Bennett wants is to cross a line with the sweet and innocent country girl—no matter how much he’d like to help himself to a nibble. Not only are they in the friendship zone, a naïve girl like Eden doesn’t belong in his dangerous world.

But when she asks him to help her rehearse lines, and things go from simmer to boil, he finds himself doing the one thing he swore he’d never do. He knows he needs to walk away from temptation, but when sweet little Eden bites back, it tilts his world on its axis. Because biting back changes everything.

My Review
Hold me Down Hard is fast-paced, straight to the freaking point, and completely lustful!

For some reason, everyone thinks Eden is a sweet, naive and innocent country girl from Iowa and this includes her hot best friend Jay. Little does anyone know that this aspiring actress has some sinful fantasies and fetishes. Sweet Eden likes to be tied up and spanked and she wants to be with someone who can give her that and more. I like a girl who knows that they want and that was Eden all the way. She was sexy, sensual and with the right push, wasn’t afraid to go after what she wanted. Eden had a creative way of getting exactly what she wanted from Jay and I was damn proud of her!

I can totally understand Eden’s uniform fetish. There is just something about a strong man in a uniform that makes me want to pounce too. Jay was the perfect sexy cop I’d love to have in my bed all day! Jay was everything Eden has ever wanted in a guy and so much more. Jay was noble, protective, and totally sweet, but man does he like it hard, rough, and fast in bed. I liked that he didn’t want to hurt Eden and respected her as a friend and as a woman. I think he underestimated himself when it came to Eden and I was so glad when he finally let loose and was able to be himself.

Hold Me Down Hard does not hesitate and goes directly into the sexy times, so if you’re looking for a drawn out love story plot line, you won’t find it here. This is just intense sexual attraction and chemistry at work and it was hot as hell.

Overall, Hold Me Down Hard is one short and steamy read that will pique your sexual interest and have you really really wishing for more. Please prepare to have your boyfriend, husband or significant other at hand after finishing.

REVIEW: Falling for Hadie by Komal Kant

Falling for Hadie by Komal Kant (With Me #2)

“Sometimes there is a single moment that changes your life forever.”

Hadie Swinton is giving up on boys.

After a disastrous relationship, she is convinced that all males are the same—arrogant, self-assured, and complete jerks.

Lincoln Bracks is giving up on his old life.

After moving to a new town to escape the problems plaguing him, he is set against ever getting close to anyone again.

When Hadie and Lincoln’s worlds collide, their intrigue for one another leads them to open up to each other against their better judgment. Despite the attraction that is pulling them together, insecurities, secrets, and shattered hopes stand in the way of them ever being together.

At a time when darkness consumes their lives, Hadie and Lincoln learn that hope and love can still be found in the most unlikely place.

My Review
Falling For Hadie by Komal Kant was a book that took me by surprise in the best possible way. I had the best and hardest time reading the book. Falling For Hadie made me smile, it made me laugh, and it made me cry fat, ugly, sobbing tears that left me gasping for air. This book hurt so bad it was so freaking good.

Hadie was tough, had a backbone and was one character that showed great resilience throughout the book. Even in the beginning when Hadie was hurt by someone she really cared about, she never let it bring her down or let it change who she really was. She was smart, capable, and had a feisty attitude when she was angry. I liked Hadie because she didn’t care about popularity or being at the top of the high school hierarchy. She she was a book nerd, but she has class and was respectful and able to stand up when needed. She never stooped down to the level of those who were bullies to others. Hadie was just herself: kind, gentle, and loving. She was just a genuinely nice person who was real through and through. I especially loved her strength, the change in which she went through, and the innate ability for her to be so damn kindhearted. But I loved Hadie most for going after Lincoln, for loving him, for standing by him and for never ever giving up on him.

What I can I say about Lincoln? It would be an understatement to say that Lincoln was an insanely amazing character, but he was definitely my favorite. He used to be football jock, the heartbreaker, the bully and the most popular guy you’d love to get your hands on. He went through so much pain and anguish and lived with a selfish family that didn't seem to care about him at all. Lincoln was just charming and friendly. He realized there was more to life. He saw the beauty in everything and he cared for Hadie. Lincoln was just the most generous, most big hearted guy, ever. There was so much compassion in him and a greatness that I can never ever do justice for. This loving boy broke my heart in a million painful ways and I loved him for everything he was and everything he wasn’t and because even in his resentment, he loved wholeheartedly

Komal Kant really put a number on me. I opened this book and enjoyed it more than I could say from the very beginning. It was quirky and fun. It had a very laid back feeling to it and was so easy to read. I devoured this baby so fast I think that’s why it hit me so hard. Kant knew how to take my heart and shatter it and she did it so painfully well, I would go on my hands and knees begging for it to be different. Falling for Hadie was so gripping, so damn emotional, I could not help but leave with a very heavy heart. It was written with such simplicity and beauty. I loved how smoothly it flowed, how authentic the character’s voices were, and how I had difficultly parting with the book at any point in time. I’m not sure if it was Kant’s writing or the whole story itself, but Falling for Hadie had that addictive quality I couldn’t shake off.

Overall Falling for Hadie was a fantastic book about love, heartbreak, and hope. Kant created a romance that was thoughtful, encouraging, and oh so true.

Opposites don’t attract. They ignite.

The small Montana town near the Kooskia reserve seemed like the perfect place for Juliet Montgomery to hide from her not-so-law-abiding family. But when her peace is shattered by a break-in and threatening phone calls, it’s clear someone back in New York knows where she is. It’s time to plan her getaway, and fast—but first, she needs to tie up a few loose ends. Namely, finding out exactly what the town’s sexy cowboy sheriff is hiding in his holster...

Sheriff Quinn Lodge has enough demons of his own to know when someone’s hiding something. Clearly, he needs to do a thorough investigation to uncover what’s beneath Juliet’s uptight, city-girl exterior—preferably one piece of clothing at a time. But when their chemistry goes from fizzy to full-on explosive, things start getting complicated. How can Juliet stay beneath the covers with Quinn, when doing so means blowing her cover?

My Review
Rebecca Zanetti has done it again! I absolutely love where she is going with the Maverick Montana series. I thought Against the Wall was great, but Under the Covers was amazing, a total step up that blew me away.

It’s rare for me to fall in love with two characters the second they show up on page and that’s exactly what happened with Juliet and Quinn.

Juliet was perfect for Quinn because her fierce and strong attitude was able to handle Quinn’s dominant, bossy, and alpha male persona. She never backed down from him and always gave him a piece of her mind. I liked that Juliet was a mystery, I never quite knew what to expect from her and I loved getting to know her along the way. Juliet was such a good person, who had so much heart and so much care for others around her. Graceful, classy, and sweet, who knew Juliet could be so darn spunky!

I never thought I could love anyone more than Jake, but Quinn was a beast set on devouring my heart. What is up with these Lodge men?! Quinn completely oozed sex and charisma. But I loved that though he could be set on rules and was firm on the law, he was always fair. Quinn was also very family oriented, cared about all of his loved ones and the whole town. He was just a hardworking, dedicated man. Sometimes he was too protective and quite forward, but he always had everyone’s best interest at heart. He knew exactly what he wanted and he was set on getting it; whether it was being reelected as Sheriff or getting Juliet in his bed. I don’t know if I should admit this, but Sheriff’s are super hot and Sheriff Quinn Lodge was a total turn on! Quinn, lets break tables any day!

Under the Cover was even better than it’s companion novel. The stakes were a little higher, the romance a little sexier, and the sex was even hotter. Zanetti ups her game with Quinn and Juliet and she was not afraid to take it all the way. I love how Zanetti builds and develops relationships into something deeper and how she creates wonderful family dynamics. This book definitely had more of a danger aspect with a foreboding feeling that followed me until it struck and I loved the anticipation and the excitement it brought.

Rebecca Zanetti’s writing is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. She really knows how to write heart pounding romance and she gives me all the emotions I look for in a book.

Plenty of love, sex, and wit to go around, Under the Covers is a sure bullseye hit.

No Strings Attached by Nicolette Day Promo + Giveaway

She wants one night. He wants her forever.

Hayden Summers just landed the job of a lifetime taking pictures for Time magazine, but she’s determined to leave with no regrets. The first thing on her list? Erase the memory of her cheating ex with a wild night of anonymous sex. The second? Figure out why her best friend, sexy bar owner Jace Jennings, stopped speaking to her the night she told him about the job.

Jace has a problem. Hayden isn’t just leaving the country, she’s risking her life—just when he’s realized he’s in love with her. When fate traps them in the storage room of his bar together, barely contained desire simmers to surface. In one last attempt to keep her, Jace offers Hayden the one thing she wants: a night of hot sex, no strings attached. But when the night is over, will Jace be able to let her go? And will Hayden leave with her heart intact?

Excerpt
“We should stop…talk about this,” she said, feeling something hot unravel low inside her. Why was she trying to give him a reason to stop? She didn’t want him to stop. Right now, all she wanted was to obliterate the space between them, consequences be damned.

Jace slid back a few inches and cupped her face in his hands, holding her so tenderly it seemed at complete odds with the intensity burning in his eyes. “Do you want me, Hayden?”
She could lie all she wanted, but her body was bound to give her away. Why couldn’t she let go? If she was going to for anyone, why not Jace?
Because you’ll fall in love with him all over again, and then he’ll walk away just like he said he would. Just like he does with every other girl who ends up in his bed.
Jace wasn’t some random stranger. He had a permanent place etched inside her heart. If this went badly, if she lost him, the pain it would cause would be irreparable. He hadn’t promised her anything here, other than tonight. In fact, he’d assured her it wouldn’t be anything more. This wasn’t about him being unable to resist her or being in love with her. This was Jace doing what he always did. Taking care of her, erasing the hurt she was feeling, no matter what the cost. It should have made this decision easy, but it didn’t. It just…hurt.  It had taken years to get over loving Jace when they were kids. Could she do it again?
“Hayden?” He slid his thumbs down her neck and rested them over her pulse that beat wildly with the force of her want. His touch burned a path that went bone deep, brushing her soul, awakening emotions she hadn’t allowed herself to feel for years. She didn’t think anymore. She let her body and heart take control, choosing to give herself over to this, to him, even if it was only once. Even if she walked away heartbroken in the end.
“Yes,” she said with bated breath. “I want you.”
“Then we’re done talking.”

Publisher: William Morrow
Publication Date: May 28, 2013
Genre: New Adult
Rating: 5/5 stars

With his tight leather pants and a sharp edge that makes him dangerous, Jet Keller is every girl’s rock and roll fantasy. But Ayden Cross is done walking on the wild side with bad boys. She doesn’t want to give in to the heat she sees in Jet’s dark, haunted eyes. She’s afraid of getting burned from the sparks of their spontaneous combustion, even as his touch sets her on fire.

Jet can’t resist the Southern Belle with mile-long legs in cowboy boots who defies his every expectation. Yet the closer he feels to Ayden, the less he seems to know her. While he’s tempted to get under her skin and undo her in every way, he knows firsthand what happens to two people with very different ideas about relationships.

Will the blaze burn into an enduring love. . . or will it consume their dreams and turn them to ashes?

My Review
I totally love it when I know that a book is going to be amazing before I even open it up and then have it exceed all my expectations by the end. That is what happened when I read Jet by Jay Crownover.

Ayden was an awesome character. She showed so much confidence, was calm and cool even during situations that put her at odds with what she was truly feeling. I loved her carefree, but also careful vibe. I was digging her style and how she was fun and respected herself. I liked that being around Jet unsettled her and made her feel things. I was always waiting for her to give herself a little free rein from trying to be a good girl and just embrace her old and new side and smash them together like she should’ve done. I have to admit that Ayden did frustrate me with her reasons for staying away from Jet and for not being able to see a forever with him. I understood her fear and hesitation from her messed up past, but it drove me crazy! However,  Ayden was brave, smart, and completely sexy in her shoes and I loved her even if I wanted to shake her.

Leather jacket, tight pants, piercings, tattoos, heavy metal and rock and roll equals Jet Keller. What’s not to love, right? Jet was freaking sex on legs and I couldn’t get enough of him. I had no doubts that I would love this man, but I never knew that I could love him more than I ever could when reading all about him. Jet was a private, quiet and brooding man. He described himself as fire waiting to burst and he was just that. Fire, heat, explosive, but mesmerizing and beautiful. He had such a big heart and so much love for his friends, for his mom, and for Ayden. And Jet was super talented. He could play guitar, sing, write songs, and has a great ear for good music and people who could play good music. And the thing about Jet was that he was able to hypnotize people on and off stage and now even on page.

I love Jay Crownover’s writing because she brings the characters she creates to life and she easily makes you fall in love with the love that surrounds them. Crownover fleshes out Jet and Ayden’s characters where I was able to really get to know them, to feel them and to sympathize with their situations. I liked that their relationship started off at a tentative, fragile and undefinable state and moved into something deep, where Jet and Ayden were finally able to open up and give each other a real chance. Even better was the amazing chemistry, the sexual tension and the too hot for words steamy scenes that continue to leave me a breathless every time. And Crownover truly brings out all the feels!

Overall, Jet seriously hit all the spots. The characters were incredible, the passion was undeniable, and the whole story was delicious

About the Author

His need to possess her is non-negotiable.

Story Brooks’ fiancé just called off their wedding two weeks before the happy day. As if that isn't bad enough, her semi-estranged father, an infamous NYPD hostage negotiator, has suffered a heart attack. Not wanting to examine her lack of emotion over the broken engagement, she hops on a plane to reconnect with her father before it’s too late.

Playboy hostage negotiator Daniel Chase has never, not once, been refused by a woman, so when a debate over hospital snack foods with a delectable kindergarten teacher ends in flat-out rejection, he makes it his mission to seduce her. His only obstacle? She’s the daughter of his mentor who implicitly forbade Daniel from pursuing her.

Despite her father’s warnings and Daniel’s troubled past, Daniel and Story can’t resist their intense attraction to one another. But when the reason for her fiancé’s abrupt wedding cancellation comes to light, can Story and Daniel's already forbidden relationship survive?

My Review
Sweet heaven and hell, Tessa Bailey just never ceases to amaze and completely blow me away with every book she writes. Just when I think the last couldn’t get any better than this, she goes and creates Officer Off Limits that pushes the rest away and stands at the top.

What I love most about Tessa’s writing is her ability to create characters that I always end up loving and caring for as if I knew them. I get so caught up in their story I lose myself in it each and every time and I love that. I get attached and I form a deep connection that I would never trade a single thing for. That’s how amazing Tessa is and I have already come to the realization that I will never get tired of reading her books.

It is a total understatement to say that I adore Story! Though I scoff at her dislike her for seafood, I freaking want to hug her because she was from San Diego, she was a sweet kindergarten teacher who loved chocolate. The woman nearly drowned when she was younger and she thought it was an adventure! Clearly, Story was a girl after my own heart. Story had the best bold and wittiest comebacks ever. Story was all sassy and full of ‘give ‘em hell’ kind of attitude, I really could not love her enough.  I was really cheering her on through the whole book because she totally found herself and her flare. She was brave for risking her life and her heart.

Daniel Daniel Daniel. He’s the best hero from the force Tessa has created thus far! Why? Because at first glance, at first impression, Daniel seemed like a playboy, a man who can never keep it in his pants and doesn’t do one woman relationships. Dive deeper and you’ll see a man who is slightly damaged, haunted from a messed up upbringing, but became someone who has made something of himself. He totally respected and looked up to Story’s dad and totally put a number on Story’s feelings. The man oozed smooth, charm and charisma; a true ladies man for sure. I didn’t know whether to roll my eyes at his pick up lines or swoon on the spot. I just knew he could walk the walk, talk the talk and deliver

I totally fell so fast, like crazy in love fast with Officer Off Limits. There was so much entertainment in this book, it was a seriously a fun ride! Not only was Story and Daniel hilarious, but the secondary characters, Brent and Matt, were laugh out loud funny. It should be a crime to be allowed to consume any beverage while in the presence of Brent. There was nothing more truer than the statement of laughing my head off while reading this book; that’s how great it was. When Daniel and Story were together, they just burned bright. Their steamy scenes were scorching and their encounters with one another were push and pull and always had me longing for more. And ultimately, this book had the best lines, ever:

“I was done the second I saw you. Done."

"Oh Matt, I love it when you talk safety"

"Dispatch, please alert medical personal that officer is whipped."

"You like blueberry pancakes? I love blueberry pancakes!"

"He’d been cast into permanent boner-oblivion for the rest of the night.”

“Who am I kidding? When I finally get inside of you, I’m going to fuck you until your voice is hoarse from screaming my name.”

“‘You know, I could have sworn you were going to pick the trail mix.’

‘Oh, yeah? Why is that?’

‘Because you’re both full of shit.’”

Overall Officer Off Limits had depth, humor, and excitement along with the sexiest romance ever.
It’s the best of Tessa Bailey yet
