Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill @ Breaking the Spine where you share an upcoming release that you're anticipating on reading.
Expected Publication: October 23, 2012
From Goodreads:
Two days after Mara walks into a police station in Miami at the close of The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer, she is committed for psychiatric treatment for what her parents believe is a mental breakdown. But what seems like a hallucination to everyone else is a chilling reality for Mara. Someone from her past has discovered her strange, disturbing secret and that someone wants her to pay. But she's about to discover that the price is more than she can bear.
Dark and thrilling, suspenseful and passionate, The Evolution of Mara Dyer will have readers breathlessly turning pages to find out what will become of Mara Dyer next.
Why I'm waiting?
1. That ending that made me go WTF?!?
If you read The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer, you know what I mean. I want to know what was going on there! Was it real? Was it fake? Hell, was it my imagination? Am I going insane? But I can't be because everyone I know that read that ending was like: asdfghjkl O_O
So naturally, I. Need. To. Know. What. Happened. Next. Plus, I just need to know more in general. I have so many questions and I need answers, people or I will go insane!
2. Mara Dyer.
Do you think we'll know her real name anywhere in this next book? I don't know, but I sure am curious. Plus I like Mara. She's got a snarky attitude that I would be more than happy to reconnect with. She's totally made of awesome and her freaky abilities and reason number 3 make me want to be her. Even though she kind of freaks me out a bit because I have no clue if she's sane or not or whatever the hell is going on, I don't really care because I lalala love her and I want back into this story no matter what.
3. Noah Shaw.
Do I really need to say more? Of course I do! I love him. I love him. I love him soooo much. I just want to be Mara so I can touch him, hug him, kiss him, run my hand down is niiiiice abs and um, possibly do more than that, but let's just leave that to my imagination. LOL. So I really adored Noah in The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer all down to his overconfident attitude, his accent and his sexxxiness (yes, he deserves three x's people!) Plus, there is so much we don't know about him and I have no clue what you guys want, but I sure want and need and must have more Noah. Noah. Noah. <3
4. And don't you want more of these moments:
“You want me as much as I want you. And all I want is you."
My tongue warred with my mind. "Today," I whispered.
Noah stood slowly, his body skimming mine as he rose.
"Today. Tonight. Tomorrow. Forever.”
“You're the girl who called me an asshole the first time we spoke. The girl who tried to pay for lunch even after you learned I have more money than God. You're the girl who risked her ass to save a dying dog, who makes my chest ache whether you're wearing green silk or ripped jeans. You're the girl that I--" Noah stopped, then took a step closer to me. "You are my girl.”
“I'll be gentle," Noah added. My breath caught in my throat as he looked at me from beneath those lashes, ruining me.
"You're evil."
"And you're mine.”
All those quotes are from The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer and I mean COME ON PEOPLE. If you thought those quotes are amazingsauce, what about the quotes we'll have in The Evolution of Mara Dyer? They will be like 134567898765x more fantabulously, extraordinarily, amazingly spectacularlously AWESOME. I don't even know if that made any sense whatsoever, but you get it, yeah? xD
So what are you waiting on?

I really want to read the first book, and this sounds really good :)
ReplyDeleteHaha, I was this close to making this my WOW pick today, but I decided to go with something that's to be published a little sooner and save Mara for another week.
ReplyDeleteBasically, my feelings for this book can be described in three words: I CAN'T WAIT! I devoured the first book in a day, and I feel like I'm probably going to do the same with this one once I finally get to read it.

AAAAH! <- That was my reaction to your choice for this week's WOW :D I really can't wait on this one..why is it so far away? I'm suffering from Noah's withdrawal :)

Admittedly, within two weeks of reading this I lost the plot - literally, I cannot remember a thing that happened in the book other than it was good. Think I'll need to re-read before buying the sequel!
